During the 2020 pandemic lockdown, Song Shunhua, a second-year student in the broadcast journalism department, decides to hone her skills at Honor of Kings to win over her aloof senior, Gu Yanze. She crosses paths with Jiang Che, a gifted esports player whose career has hit rock bottom after a ban.
He becomes her personal mentor, going by the name “Che.” He teaches her everything from playing in the Rift to handling life’s little details, and her sunny personality helps him heal.
But when Jiang Che decides he wants to enter Song Shunhua’s world, Gu Yanze is already by her side.
Time passes, and after graduating, Song Shunhua becomes an intern reporter at a TV station.
By then, Jiang Che has quietly returned to esports and become a sensation across the country with his looks and incredible skills.
They reunite on a show, then grow close and fall in love on a dating show.
But every reunion after a long separation has been planned all along.
Content note: There is a lot of Honor of Kings gameplay early on.
