The Prince Keeps Pressing Me to Marry Him After My Fall from a Horse

In the third year of Yong’an, Xiao Jin, the powerful regent, fell from his horse at the hunting grounds and injured his brain.

When he woke up, he took the melodramatic historical romance he’d read before bed for real, deciding that the noble Xie family’s young master, Xie Heng, was the runaway wife he could never win over. He then staged an absurd “domineering prince forces love” drama for the refined scholar he had met only a handful of times.

He sent a golden chain to declare ownership, built a luxurious tower to serve as a cage, slammed his hand on the table to defend Xie Heng at court, and kept saying, “You can’t escape.” But Xie Heng was sharp and clearheaded. He saw through Xiao Jin’s “novel-addled brain” at a glance and not only stayed calm, but played along, going with the flow. If Xiao Jin wanted to lock him up, he would make himself at home and turn the cage into a study. If Xiao Jin demanded he share his bed, Xie Heng would drag him into an all-night study session of ancient texts.

As they toyed with each other, Xie Heng unexpectedly discovered that beneath the mad regent’s ridiculous behavior lay a tenderness no one knew about, and even uncovered the truth behind the old case in which the Xie family had been framed. Meanwhile, amid their make-believe romance becoming real, Xiao Jin had already fallen for Xie Heng, his possessive obsession gradually turning into a careful, tender protectiveness.

A farcical misunderstanding sparked by a romance novel, a pursuit tangled up in political scheming, love, and hate: when Xiao Jin’s memories return and old grievances come to light, how will this bickering couple’s story end?
