A Wolf Named Lancheng

Lan Cheng’s parents were framed and killed by the old wolf Gasa. To avenge them, he made it his dream to become the Wolf King.

Later, Feifei, who had been Lan Cheng’s sworn enemy since childhood, was deliberately used by Gasa to kill a bison. Gasa was driven out of the pack by his son, who won the Wolf King’s position in the ensuing contest.

To establish his authority, the new Wolf King led the pack to challenge a snow leopard, but the leopard killed him.

As the pack chose a new Wolf King, another pack attacked in the confusion, and the two packs merged. A black male wolf named Heite and a white female wolf named Baite became the pack’s leaders.

Lan Cheng gave up his chance to become Wolf King because he fell in love with Baite. But the following year, a tiger with a bad leg arrived and killed Baite. Heite, in turn, died fighting the tiger.

Lan Cheng became Wolf King, but left his territory because of hunters.

The pack fought a pack of jackals over new territory and won.

A male wolf and the female wolf Honghua plotted to put Lan Cheng’s younger brother in danger and drove Lan Cheng out of the pack.

Hunters captured the pack’s cubs. Lan Cheng led the hunters away, but was caught and sold to an arena.

After living in the arena for three days, he was bought by a man named Andy and became a deer-herding dog on a farm.

At last, an old hunter took Lan Cheng away and released him where he had been born. He eventually died of illness in the cave where he first came into the world.
