Tang Lici (Luo Yunxi), whose loyalties are hard to discern, is framed by a former friend and forced into Fengliu Store's plot to overturn the martial world. He looks down coldly upon all under heaven, uses the foreign martial art "Book of Rebirth" to probe the Thirteen Towers, outwits Sword King City, forms an alliance with Biluo Palace, takes control of the Central Plains Sword Assembly, and pits himself against Fengliu Store. Along the way, however, he forms deep bonds with Chi Yun, Shen Langhun, and others, and is moved by the heroes' fearless determination to protect all living beings, even at the cost of their lives. In the end, he chooses to shoulder the responsibility for the future of the martial world.
