Dreaming once more of The Peony Pavilion, singing through The Peach Blossom Fan. The actress Qu Wanting is unmatched in both beauty and talent, yet fate has dealt her a cruel hand. Separated from her parents as a child, she was taken in by her master, Qu Zhang, and grew up alongside her senior apprentice, Xu Yunsheng. Qu Wanting and Xu Yunsheng became a perfectly matched pair onstage, and their affection for each other grew behind the scenes. She played Du Liniang, and he played Liu Mengmei. They should have been a perfect couple. Yet on the day roles were chosen for the palace banquet, Prince Jing, Xiao Jinwen, laid eyes on Qu Wanting as her long sleeves danced through the air. Her fleeting radiance and his single, startled glance changed everything. The prince's decision to steal her away will send Qu Wanting's fate into turmoil once more. Will it bring joy or disaster, love or hatred? With her red thread of fate in disarray, where will she go from here?
