In the world of Pokemon, Gu Yang awakens the Future Sight System, which lets him read five seconds into the future of a battle.
As a temp at the assessment center, he gets mocked for having no Pokemon and being unqualified to judge them.
At a public battle, he sends out an F-rank Chikorita, and everyone laughs, sure he's asking for trouble.
A Charmander charges in. Gu Yang calmly gives his order: “Two steps left. Sweep the ground with Vine Whip.”
Dust billows up, blocking Charmander's vision.
“Now! Hit the third scale on its left foot with Tackle.”
Chikorita lands the hit, and the S-rank Charmander crashes to the ground.
The whole arena falls silent.
A genius researcher comes to see him. “Your decisions surpass the System's optimal solution. How do you do it?”
Gu Yang: “Watch more. Learn more.”
With the Pokemon everyone else looks down on, he fights his way from the bottom all the way to the World Championships.
His opponents use Mega Evolution; he uses bond resonance.
His opponents Dynamax; he counters them with tactics.
When a crisis involving Legendary Pokémon strikes, trainers around the world are powerless to act.
Gu Yang steps forward. “Give me five seconds, and I'll give you a future.”
[Ding! Future Sight upgraded. You can now read ten seconds ahead.]
A story about using tactics and bonds to overcome every doubt.
