Entrusting My Heart to Inkstone

She is the God of War of the Northern Frontier. He is a wily strategist. A salvation turned upside down, and a love that could topple kingdoms.

Shen Jinglan, Marquis of Zhenbei, finds a scholar in a mass grave and brings him home.

She gives him a chance to live; he promises her a path to greatness.

Three years later, the new top scholar asks for her hand in marriage before the emperor, shaking the entire court. The woman he wants to marry is none other than the powerful female general who rules the court.

The world laughs: A scholar matched with a battle-hardened general? How absurd!

But no one knows...

He willingly becomes a pawn, moving carefully at every turn, determined to root out the court's corruption so she never has to bleed alone again.

She is willing to lay down her armor and hide her edge for a time, allowing his schemes to unfold in the darkness and trusting that he will lead them into the light.

When a conspiracy tears apart their trust, she throws down a divorce agreement and leaves for the frontier. He dons his armor and rides a thousand miles with sword in hand. "Shen Jinglan, I'll help you defend your realm. And I'll protect your life."

From mountains of corpses and seas of blood to a flourishing court, from suspicion and rifts to entrusting each other with their lives.

In the end, he gives up his position as chief minister, and she relinquishes her military seals. Together, they retire beneath the peach blossoms that year.

Their names never made it into the history books, but they left behind a legend: There was once a man who made himself a shield to protect her through half a lifetime of war, and a woman who used her heart as an inkstone to write a lifetime of devotion.
