When her protective charm crumbles to dust, Ji Ya, a sharp-tongued beauty from the chemistry department, is forced into a bond with a ghost king from the Qin dynasty. By day, she’s a struggling college student. By night, she becomes a “points hunter,” using scientific knowledge to exorcise ghosts by force and the spirit of stand-up comedy to reform vengeful spirits. Her best friend and teammate, Lu Xuege, a social menace, is forced to share a “human-ghost shadow rental” arrangement with an overworked underworld officer. The four bizarre partners tackle the most terrifying supernatural cases in the most unhinged ways while frantically earning underworld points, all to pay off the ghost king boyfriend’s sky-high fee for overstaying his welcome. But when the conspiracy lurking in the shadows comes to light, they discover that every mission points to a scheme spanning a thousand years...
Ji and Lu: So, you mean we have to go to class during the day and work at night? Do we get paid? Do we get benefits? Do you provide food and accommodation?
Yin: ...They haven’t even paid my overtime.
Zeng: ...No
