The story is set in the fictional history of 1899 (the 25th year of Guangxu). The "iron armored fleet" and "difference machine intelligence network" of the great powers do not rely on pure technology, but are derived from the "spiritual core" they plundered from the East - a core technology that seals the spirit of monsters and uses it as energy. In order to fight against foreign enemies, the Qing government restarted the dusty "Demon Suppression Division". Its members did not practice immortal magic, but controlled "demon armor" improved by the Mohist organ technique and driven by the "Whispering Spirit Core" to become the last line of defense.
