Marry Me This Summer

Li Qingzi x Cheng Chaoli [Both leads are romantically inexperienced + cozy, sweet romance + she has a crush on him + he falls for her after they marry]

I met a boy when I was fourteen.

In a white T-shirt and black pants, he ran toward me through the sunlight and reached out to help me up when I fell. In secret, I called him my moon: a distant light I never dared hope to reach.

At sixteen, I got into the school he attended. Even though I had only one year left in which I might run into him, I still worked up the courage to speak to him. At last, I touched the moon I had admired from afar for so long.

On a rainy day when I was twenty-four, he walked into the shop in a black shirt, holding a large black umbrella. My gaze froze in an instant. No one could hear my heart pounding.

At our fourth meeting, he looked at me and said, “Let’s get married.”

Then he solemnly added, “This won’t just be a trial run.”

In that moment, I knew my moon had come to my side.

While I was away on a business trip after our wedding, Cheng Chaoli was at my old home. Unable to resist his curiosity, he opened that old box.

Inside was a photo from an amusement park, showing the back of a boy.

On the reverse, I had written down the feelings of my girlhood:

“Every day I meet Cheng Chaoli, this girl’s heart beats at least 131 times a minute., Li Qingzi”

His eyes reddened. He realized that the person she had secretly loved for so long was him, and picked up his pen to write a reply:

“I’ve caught your heartbeat. From now on, let me use a fiercer love to become part of it., Cheng Chaoli”
