The Broken Scroll Path
Yun Xiao, a menial disciple of Qinglan Sect with an incomplete spiritual root, happens upon an anonymous fragment in the Scripture Pavilion. From then on, he glimpses another side of the cultivation world. While everyone judges strength by spiritual power, he uncovers the secret of "proving one's true heart" in the fragment. He learns to redirect force by watching water wear away stone, and to cultivate the way of unending life by observing plants wither and bloom. With only the meager ability to draw in qi, he stands against Mo Yuan at the peak of Foundation Establishment, astounding the sect.
His path does not lie in the vast spiritual power of his dantian, but in a clear and lucid state of mind. When tempering himself in earthfire, he lets the flames forge his heart, protected by the fragment's radiance. In secret realms, he uses all things as a shield, glimpsing the true meaning of the Great Dao between life and death.
Su Qingyuan, as cold and serene as a winter plum, enters Qinglan to find the family's stolen Tianyan Jade. Her probing sword strikes conceal a wariness toward the world. It is only after they survive together in a demon beast's lair that she sees the heart beneath his seemingly gentle exterior: one more steadfast than stone. The resonance between the fragment and the Tianyan Jade not only reveals the secret of an ancient Dao-proving artifact, but also draws their hearts closer amid suspicion and protection.
When Mo Yuan's jealousy turns against the sect and outside forces covet the fragment, Yun Xiao continues to use it as a mirror, reflecting on his own heart: "Of the three thousand Great Daos, none rely on spiritual power. All depend on perseverance." Hand in hand with Su Qingyuan, he uses all things as weapons and affection as armor, carving out a path to the heavens paved by a "broken scroll" in a world where spiritual power reigns supreme.
This is not a story about the strong preying on the weak. It is about how a young man, with a broken body and a single fragment, keeps his heart true and journeys alongside one person, until the words "broken scroll" become a legend the cultivation world dares not underestimate.
