The Old Moon’s Dark Glow, A Scholar’s Robe in Song Times

Best savored slowly. A serious, traditional historical story, with a hero who knows when to yield and when to stand firm. Decisive and ruthless, shrewd and calculating, with farming and development. No wild fantasy, no System. Historian Zhang Xuan opens his eyes to find that his soul has traveled back to the end of the Song Dynasty. In court, Jia Sidao holds power over the realm and corrupt officials run rampant. Beyond the borders, foreign cavalry wait like wolves, and the Great Song is on the brink of ruin. To find a way to survive, Zhang Xuan enters Jia Sidao’s household as a servant, starting at the very bottom. With a pair of uncanny eyes for identifying treasures, he can recognize priceless relics from across the ages and see through schemes at court. He carefully advances through the treacherous household of a corrupt minister, rising step by step to great heights! Armed with modern knowledge, he turns the tide of history: first bringing down the treacherous Jia Sidao, then helping the feeble emperor restore order to the court. He leads armies north to pacify the northern deserts and drive out foreign invaders, expanding the realm, uniting the lands, and bringing peace to the people. See how a master appraiser rises from humble beginnings to save the day, rewrite the fate of the Great Song, keep foreign invaders from ever setting foot in the Central Plains again, and forge a legend that will endure for all time!
