Chronicles of the Southern and Northern Immortal Clans: Your Heart Beside the Yurt

One is Mu Jun'er, a young spirit medium born among the White Mountains and Black Waters. Carrying on her ancestors' legacy, she can discern spirits and identify evil, and takes on the peril facing the immortals of Northeast China with half a tattered book and a fox bone. The other is Saren, a wolf-immortal emissary raised beneath the grassland sky. She grew up with the wind, can summon spirits and commune with immortals, and safeguards the peace of the grasslands with a shaman's charge and a wolf-head silver ornament. When a nightmare demon breaks free from its seal, it throws the five great immortals of Northeast China into turmoil and disturbs the grassland immortals' peace, bringing the two women, once separated by great distances, together across the Xing'an Mountains. They were strangers to each other's arts, yet stand side by side for the same desire to protect the people. Though divided by the different rules of the north and south, they break a century-old pact to subdue the nightmare demon. As they travel together, Mu Jun'er uses the fox bone's immortal power to destroy evil and dispel spirits, while Saren purifies malice with the aura of the wolf immortal. From suspicion to understanding, from companions to kindred spirits, they journey through the vast northern lands: one protects the roots of the White Mountains and Black Waters, the other guards the soul of the grassland sky. Together, their powers restore balance between north and south and forge a legend for the ages.
