On the Yunnan-Myanmar border in 2000, cases of cultural relic smuggling are rampant. The Cheetah Squad is ordered to investigate clues leading into the jungles of the Golden Triangle. Their target is the ancient Dian kingdom's treasure, the "Twin Blossoms," said to be hidden in the "Secret Realm of Eternal Life."
In a Dai village, the squad hears the legend of the Twin Blossoms. They are said to have formed from the souls of twin princesses who died for their country, transformed into jade and guarded by a vicious spirit. During their pursuit, the squad clashes repeatedly with the international smuggling syndicate "Black Scorpion," which also covets the treasure, and faces a series of twists and turns involving rainforest traps, eerie apparitions, and pieces of a map.
After entering the secret realm, the squad confronts trial after trial, including a suspended stone bridge and a mirror maze, and has to contend with Black Scorpion's leader, Poison Scorpion, and his forces. Gradually, they uncover the secret that the Twin Blossoms are actually a bronze flower, summoned with two tokens. They also learn that the northern Myanmar mage Kun Bu is a descendant of the guardians, and discover his past connection to Poison Scorpion.
In the secret realm, the fierce tomb guardian awakens, impervious to blades and spears. Amid the crisis, the Cheetah Squad and Poison Scorpion set aside their enmity and join forces, using the "Power of the Twins" to activate the tokens and bring forth the Twin Blossoms to suppress the evil spirit. Poison Scorpion and Kun Bu sacrifice themselves to protect the treasure, while the Cheetah Squad breaks out with the Twin Blossoms.
On their way back, the squad drives off the remnants of Black Scorpion and hands the treasure over to the cultural relics authorities. An appraisal finds that the Twin Blossoms contain special minerals, lending credence to the legend that they can safeguard the nation and bring peace. Afterward, the squad eradicates the smuggling forces. The Twin Blossoms case becomes a landmark international cultural heritage protection case, and the story of guardianship and redemption continues to echo through the border jungles.
Well written, I like it!
