The protagonist Jin Canxing has a heart disease and gives up the chance of survival to his younger sister Junxiu. She fell in love with her roommate Zheng Yunhan, but Yunhan seemed to like Junxiu at first. There are polyamorous relationships in the story: Chanxing loves Yunhan, Yunhan later falls in love with Chanxing but may initially regard Junxiu as a substitute, Wenxuan loves Chanxing but is with Junxiu, and Junxiu loves Wenxuan.
