Transmigrating to the Great Ming: Are There Any Locals Here?

[Multiple transmigrators + palace intrigue and power struggles + Werewolf-style mind games + historical what-ifs + no romance]

Lin Yan transmigrates into the body of Zhu Biao, the Ming Crown Prince, on the very day the history books say he died.

Beside the dragon bed, the white-haired Zhu Yuanzhang pats his hand, his eyes reddening: “Odd numbers change, even numbers stay the same?”

Cold sweat soaks through Lin Yan’s clothes as he stares in confusion, as if to say, “Father, what are you talking about?”

He guessed right: Old Zhu had transmigrated too, and was testing him.

After barely getting through the ordeal with the acting skills he’d honed over ten years as an extra, he hears the Crown Princess, Lady Lü, whispering outside the window: “He’s supposed to die today according to history. I can’t afford to lose my long-term meal ticket…”

Lin Yan: “…?”

The even younger eldest imperial grandson, Zhu Yunwen, tugs at his mother’s sleeve and sighs like an old man: “Mom, you gave it away.”

Lin Yan: “???”

So, in the Forbidden City in the twenty-fifth year of Hongwu, just how many locals are left?

Facing a crowd of “fellow countrymen” wearing the skins of ancient people, professional actor Lin Yan takes a deep breath and silently says to himself:

Action.

With the empire as the wager and life and death as the stakes, this “Ming Dynasty script-killer” is a play in which I, the leading man, will take the role.
