Two Heroines of the Republic: The Tech Queen and the Rose of Revenge

(Not a good read, and the plot makes even less sense. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Don't click, don't waste your time.) Others rescue fallen women. I rescued Shanghai's most dangerous red rose.

Wen Xi, a brilliant young woman at St. John's University, believed science could save her country.

She invented a portable printing press to spread new ideas, improved plant dyes to compete with foreign goods, and built water purifiers to save epidemic-stricken communities.

Everyone said she was the future hope of the Republic of China.

Until she had to beg that woman for help saving her father.

Qin Ye, Shanghai's famous red rose, was beautiful but thorny.

After her parents were brutally killed and her family fortune stolen, she clawed her way back from the depths and became Boss Qin, a woman everyone feared.

Revenge was her only reason to live.

Until one rainy night, she discovered that the person who had saved her life six years ago, the one she'd searched for all that time, was the naive yet stubborn college student standing right in front of her.

“Stay away from me, Wen Xi. My world is too filthy.”

“Then I'll invent something that can clean it up.”

As the blazing sun of idealism shone into a vengeful woman's dark night;

As Wen Xi's inventions repeatedly threatened the old guard's interests, Xing Ye's secret protection gradually turned into open favoritism;

As a fake engagement grew into genuine affection, they embraced amid the chaos of a turbulent era...

Conservative newspapers exposed their “unnatural relationship,” their families threatened them with death, and foreign capital joined forces to crush them...

“I'd rather you suffer for real, Wen Xi, than be happy in a lie.” In the end, her mother gave in.

“My inventions belong to this land,” Wen Xi said at the press conference, gripping Xing Ye's hand. “And my heart belongs to her.”
