Xuan Cang Treads the Heavens

In a time of chaos, the people live in misery, and disasters, both natural and man-made, seem never-ending. Fine wine and rich meat stink behind vermilion gates, while frozen corpses lie along the roadside. In this seemingly lightless world, an extraordinary man appears.

He is like a ray of light, guiding people toward a brighter future and bringing everlasting radiance to a dark, rotten world.

This extraordinary man takes life lightly yet pities all living beings; he acts carelessly yet despises evil; he is a playboy yet loves with unwavering devotion. Though his natural talent is ordinary, he becomes a Heaven Realm powerhouse and ascends beyond the heavens.

By all rights, born behind vermilion gates, he should have treated commoners as mere dogs. Instead, he was ashamed to associate with the powerful and found joy among the people. Those born into privilege were expected to have wives and concubines by the dozen, yet he gave his heart to only one person, even though the woman he loved was no longer alive.

Few wealthy young men are willing to endure hardship and train, especially when they lack natural talent. A powerful figure of the age once said he would never amount to much, but he retorted, “My fate is mine to command, not Heaven’s!” After passing through the Mortal, Spirit, and Profound Realms, he became the only Heaven Realm powerhouse of his age and finally ascended beyond the heavens.

Even after his ascension, people never tired of telling stories about him. They built the Xuancang Temple and sculpted a statue in his likeness for the world to worship.

Who was this extraordinary man?

He was Qin Cang, son of Prince Qin Xian.
