The Monster’s Bride: Keep It Up and I’ll Kiss You

[Fantasy + substitute + monsters + dramatic heiress + two equally powerful leads + one-on-one romance]

She offers the Jiang family a bride price of one billion for a person, but they send her a miserable little boy instead. The boy looks like a young beast, his voice tight with tension and his whole body on guard. “I’m warning you! Don’t touch me, or else…”

Su Guotang says coldly, “Touch you? Ha, I’d rather, die, than, touch, you!”

-

At first:

They both have mouths. What are they for? To trade barbs!

They both have brains. What are they for? To outwit each other!

-

Later:

A pack of sweet-faced young men crowd around Su Guotang, calling her “Sis” in honeyed voices. One even asks Jiang Yan, “Bro, does Sis have a boyfriend?”

Jiang Yan answers solemnly, “No!”

The other guy brightens and slips him a red envelope. “Bro, tell me more about her.”

Jiang Yan takes the envelope and says, “She has a husband.”

“Huh? I’ve never seen him. Who is he?”

“Me!”

-

Just as he comes to cherish her above his own life, she receives news of his death.

At the funeral, faced with mournful looks and probing questions, she smiles brightly and boldly:

“Thanks for your concern. By the way, I’m widowed and single, so feel free to pursue me.”

That night, the man who was supposedly dead returns beneath a blood-red moon and corners her in the bedroom…

-

Later on:

Every time he goes out, he reminds her, “Behave yourself. Don’t go flirting with people everywhere!”

Su Guotang kicks him in the chest.

Jiang Yan’s tentacles wrap around her ankle and pull her into his arms.

Well, looks like she won’t be going out…
