In nineteenth-century New London, a clockwork city, the gears of the Void Clock Tower control the passage of time, but conceal timeworms that feed on history. Toby, the son of a clockmaker, unexpectedly awakens the ability to control time. Along with Claire, a girl studying history, and Kai, an amnesiac Riftwalker, he forms an adventuring party. With them is Chrono, a pocket-watch sprite that can sense distortions in time. Together they venture into an endlessly looping naval battle rift, forgotten historical voids, and a chaotic maze of time and space. Every leap through time tests their sanity, and every truth they uncover brings them closer to the secret of how time devoured the previous civilization. Can they mend the collapsing timeline and stop the timeworms from devouring all of human history?
