Is It Wrong to Be a Civil Servant in Konoha?

[No System] [Native Character] [Slow Burn] [Everything Follows Logic] [All-Rounder]

Hatake Sakumo, Konohagakure's most unusual civil servant, works in the Anbu. His main job is helping the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, deal with the kinds of problems that are “too important to see the light of day.” He carefully calculates the risks and rewards of every mission, rationally evaluates the best solution, and routinely turns down his colleague Shimura Danzō's tempting invitations to “start a faction of our own.”

His superior, Tobirama, is always criticizing him for “lacking team spirit,” while his cousin Sakumo constantly challenges his cold, efficiency-driven principles with naive passion. Sakumo's greatest wish is simply to quietly polish his sword, eat tempura, and protect everything he cherishes in his own way.

Until he gradually understands that the true cost of this job is far greater than its salary. It demands that you hold on to your humanity in necessary darkness, bear the pain of absolute rationality, and ultimately become a sword that sinks into the shadows for the sake of the light.

“New mission? What a hassle.”

But when trouble touches the tenderest part of his heart, this calculating ninja will prove that some things never need to be calculated.
