A cheeky, grinning guard with a blade × a silent, cold-faced prince
I'm Peng Jing'an, an imperial guard personally appointed by the emperor. My job is to “protect” up close the famously difficult Prince Le Hanyu.
Everyone fears his gloomy, violent temper. I'm the only one who's noticed his ears turn red.
So every day, I find new ways to tease him: “Your Highness, there's snow on your eyelashes. Shall I blow it off for you?”
Until one day, he pinned me in a corner, pressed a dagger to my throat, and sneered, “Do you really think I wouldn't dare kill you?”
I grinned and leaned closer to the blade. “You'd dare, but Your Highness's hand... is shaking.”
“Now you're the one shaking, An'an,” Le Hanyu teased softly.
It was Le Hanyu who protected Peng Jingyu immediately even though he was seriously injured. It was Peng Jingyu who was scared to death, but she gritted her teeth and accompanied him into the dragon's pond and the tiger's den. It was Long Qi and Ying Qi who fought to the death to give them a chance of survival. It's "Baimao Feng" who could have just stood by and watched, but instead staked all his wealth on a promise. It was the old King Jin and Peng Huaiyuan who had long since turned into withered bones, but they used the clues left behind to protect the two children from a distance. This sense of inheritance that "predecessors planted trees and others will enjoy the shade", this kind of lonely courage that "even though there are thousands of people out there, I will go", this kind of support in life and death that "you have me behind you" are the things that really bring tears to people's eyes. It's so beautiful 🤭🤭🤭
