Tang Dynasty Tales: Starting as a County Deputy in Wannian

(Female lead: Pei Xijun) In the second year of Jingyun, on a rainy night in Chang'an. A corpse with a strange smile lies dead in a locked study, clutching a silk doll eerily similar to one belonging to someone who died three years earlier. Wang Xu, a police detective who transmigrated here just three months ago, has become the county magistrate of Wannian in the Tang Dynasty. He thinks this is just an ordinary murder case, until he sees the name “Su Wuming, the new county magistrate of Chang'an” in the case files, and realizes he's stepped into the sinister world of Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty. Faced with “Chang'an Red Tea,” which drives officials mad, a choice lies before him: Should he settle for being a “great detective,” or enter the game as a player and become the very rules of this Tang empire? In Chang'an, where a subtle fragrance drifts through the air, the truth finally dawns on him: The most poisonous thing has never been the Drunken Orchid, but the human heart; and the strangest thing is no mechanism, but the entire age that nests in Chang'an, parasitic upon a golden era. Watch as he steers the fate of the Tang Dynasty through the turbulent Tanglong coup, the Kaiyuan Golden Age, and the An Lushan Rebellion.
