[Nuclear-winter apocalypse + making a living with puppet mastery + a commoner’s rough-and-tumble life]
An asteroid struck Earth, dust blotted out the sky, and nuclear winter suddenly descended.
No spatial storage, no rebirth, no stockpiling, no awakening of supernatural powers, and no zombie hordes. Just an apocalypse so real it chilled you to the bone: eternal-night cold, depleted resources, and humanity twisted into murderous desperation.
From the start, he saw a gold-digger turn on him. A fireball-bearing asteroid crashed into the earth, turning forests into scorched wasteland. Storms overturned vehicles, and tens of thousands crowded onto a long bridge, hacking at one another for the slightest chance to survive.
Everywhere, the earth split apart into deadly traps. Armed refugees roamed the land, robbing and raping people. Every step led to a dead end.
I had one trick up my sleeve: puppet mastery that let me control corpses. I made the corpse of Ao Sihai, a crime boss, look alive, then entered his family and lived in comfort, with everything I could want.
Ao Sihai was only my first puppet. If one broke, I’d replace it; if I ran out of underlings, I’d recruit more. As long as my puppets thought of me as their savior, no one would dare lay a finger on me.
No matter how dangerous the apocalypse got, I mingled with all sorts of big shots and lived a life of luxury, even as a commoner!
It's nice and interesting. Where is the author's new book?
