Superman and Luthor: The Birth of a Symbiosis

When a god falls in love with a human, and a human dares to dream of creating a god, this isn't a story about Superman defeating Lex Luthor. It's an epic about how they love and destroy each other.

In another possible DC universe, Clark Kent isn't the last lonely son of Krypton. He has a secret confidant: Lex Luthor, the brilliant boy who witnessed Clark's powers awaken when they were children. Lex knows the truth about the meteorite and helped design the red-and-blue suit, yet he walks a dangerous line between trust and control.

“I love you, so I have to make sure there's something in this world that can kill you.”

They are each other's deepest bond and greatest threat. Using their genes, Lex creates Conner, a child who is both their son and a contingency plan, locking all three of them into an even more complicated game.

When possessiveness disguises itself as protection, and love comes shadowed by control, divinity and humanity redefine what it means to be a family through an endless push and pull. Batman watches this dangerous alliance with a cold eye, while the oblivious world depends on this contradictory couple.

“I'm not your weakness, Clark. I'm the reason you choose to remain human.”

This is a dance between a star and stardust, a story about how love can find a third possibility between absolute power and absolute vulnerability.
