Records of the Grand Historian: The Original Classic Edition

This authoritative edition has been collated against reliable source texts and includes all 130 chapters of Records of the Grand Historian: the Twelve Basic Annals, Ten Tables, Eight Treatises, Thirty Hereditary Houses, and Seventy Biographies. Covering events from the Yellow Emperor to Emperor Wu of Han, it is China’s first comprehensive history written in biographical-annalistic form. The original text preserves the character of the classical work, with rigorous annotations and collation that restore its historical importance and literary brilliance as “the swan song of historians, a Li Sao without rhyme.” An authoritative edition for academic research and the collecting of classical texts.
