When the huge wave of the COVID-19 epidemic struck, China's medical system faced an unprecedented test. The novel takes the medical system reform in Xishui County in the 1920s as the main line, tearing apart the real game under the bright white robe. The power confrontation between Secretary Zhao Yaru and Director Gu Xiaowei of Xishui County General Hospital, with conflicts of ideas and tug of interests running through the whole story. Who is protecting the original intention of doctors? Who is lost in the undercurrent? Under the coordinated reform of medical care, medical insurance, and medicine, and the zero markup policy, how can hospitals balance survival and mission? On the thin line between life and death, human nature, desire, and greed are magnified to the extreme. Some people sacrifice their lives for charity, while others take desperate risks... The novel deeply depicts the resonance of the fate of small people and the big era in the wave of reform. The brush strokes are as sharp as a scalpel, cutting through the blood and pain between ideal and reality. The soul asks: In the deep water of medical reform, can we not only cure physical diseases, but also heal mental diseases?

"Yi Hai Shen Fu" is a very powerful work. I just finished reading several official novels by Zhou Meisen not long ago. I feel that the characterization and story structure are not as exciting and attractive as this novel. It may also be that the characters in Zhou Meisen's books are all officials at the ministerial and departmental levels, and they are ordinary people who come into contact with and interact with each other. I can't feel the layers and scenery, but this novel is about the people and things around me, which makes readers have a strong sense of empathy and relief. The characters in the novel are closer to the common people and the grassroots. I really hope that more ordinary readers can read it. I highly recommend it [Like] [Like] [Like]
