The Heavenly Palace Chess Game

Dong Yu, a modern PhD in history, unexpectedly transmigrates into the body of a daughter of a minor noble family on the fringes of the fictional Great Yu Dynasty. At the edge of the political maelstrom, she relies on her knowledge of modern political economy and keen understanding of historical patterns to survive between the imperial court and the martial world. The Great Yu Dynasty appears prosperous on the surface, but undercurrents run deep. The Crown Prince and the Second Prince are locked in open and covert power struggles at court, while the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion and Shadow Gate vie for supremacy in the martial world. No sooner does Dong Yu arrive in the capital than she is caught up in a conspiracy targeting the Crown Prince's faction, forcing her to maneuver between him and the Second Prince. She uses modern economic theory to reform the tax system, winning the emperor's favor but also provoking the jealousy of the powerful. At the same time, she discovers that her father's death was no accident, but connected to a coup at court fifteen years ago, and that an even greater conspiracy lies behind it. Dong Yu must tread carefully at court and make allies in the martial world. She has to withstand pressure from the Crown Prince's faction, fend off the Second Prince's attempts to recruit her, and uncover the truth behind her father's death. As her investigation deepens, she discovers that everything points to a shocking secret: the reigning emperor is not the rightful ruler, but seized the throne in a bloody coup. Dong Yu faces a difficult choice: revealing the truth will plunge the court into turmoil and endanger the people, while keeping silent will leave the injustice unresolved. In the end, by combining modern wisdom with ancient political intrigue, she prevails in the dual struggles of court and martial world, clears her father's name, and guides the Great Yu Dynasty toward reform, bringing modern ideas and ancient society together.
