Synopsis

The day his sword bones were stolen, a woman in a plain white skirt descended from the heavens.

Ye Chen was born with sword bones, but his family betrayed him. They carved them out of his body and transplanted them into his cousin. As he lay dying, a woman dressed in white tore through the sky and, with a touch of her fingertip, planted a “sword seed” deep in his bloodline, something more fundamental than sword bones.

“Sword bones may be inborn, but they are only skin-deep. A veiled sword heart is the true wound at the root.”

She left him these words and a token bearing the character “Prison,” then vanished into the mists of time and space.

The token unlocked the World Prison Tower, which suppressed the sword intent of the heavens. Making his body a sword, Ye Chen reforged his foundations. During a trial in the Black Wind Mountains, he slew evil cultivators with his blade. At Soulbreaker Cliff, he faced an ancient demon sword, gained the aid of a mysterious sword spirit, sealed a sinister being, and made his name throughout Qingzhou.

Yet it was only the beginning.

The mystery of his father’s disappearance was connected to the ancient “War Between Gods and Demons.” What had the woman in white, alone for ten thousand years, been waiting for? And why had the legacy of Dugu Baitian, the World Prison Tower’s former master, chosen Ye Chen?

The winds of change were stirring in Qingzhou. The Xuantian Sword Sect, the Hall of Reincarnation, and all manner of factions were moving in the shadows. At the Swordsmanship Tournament and in the Sword Tomb’s secret realm, Ye Chen would face Ye Yuntian, the enemy who stole his sword bones, and gradually uncover a fateful scheme spanning countless ages.

The sword in his hand would sever more than old grudges. It would cut through the threads of fate entwining all living beings, threads even the woman in white could not escape...

“When the sword in your hand is worthy of my attention, you will learn the price.”

“For now, you need only remember this...”

“This sword shall cut down fate.”
