[A new work from a newcomer, so please bear with me.] I can’t keep writing this book. I’m struggling to continue it. The same framework with a few data-stream elements feels so unrealistic. I want to try a different genre.
When the hexagrams of the Book of Changes become a skill tree, and the doctrines of the Hundred Schools of Thought turn into data streams...
This is an ancient world whose data has spiraled out of control because of the “River Chart and Luo Book Grand Formation.” Attribute tags hover above all things, while the quest System follows the hidden logic of heavenly karma. Li Mo, orphaned heir of the Marquis of Zhenbei, awakens a dual data perspective in a fragment of an ancient text and sees a terrifying truth hidden from view: three hundred years ago, seven defiers of Heaven sealed the System at the cost of their lives, and now the seal is about to break.
He enters the Starwatch Pavilion and cultivates the Primordial Unity Daoist Canon. The Confucian school’s righteous qi can purify data corruption; the military school’s baleful qi can tear through System barriers; and the Mohist school’s mechanical arts are the perfect counter to data abominations. Yet ancient weapons of the God of War erupt from Mount Yanran in the northern frontier, while a barbarian shaman’s blood sacrifice foretells, “The Li bloodline will be the key, and all weapons will submit.” A white-robed mirror-bearer of the Pure World Cult manipulates inner demons, revealing experimental markings left by a higher civilization beyond the sea of stars.
Here, the “Myriad Phenomena Chessboard” uses Go to model the laws of the cosmos; the Star Corridor houses book spirits containing three thousand Daoist scriptures; and the “Ninth Volume: Seeds of Civilization” can only be unlocked by gathering all eight volumes of the Heavenly Secrets Map. When friends turn against him, mentors fall to darkness, and the sky splits open as an observer’s examination token descends, Li Mo raises his sword and questions Heaven: “Is our civilization nothing more than an experimental specimen for the likes of you?”
I have revised and recast this book, and it is called Imaginary Almanac: A New Book of Civilization. Friends, you don't need to read it. This book will teach eunuchs.
