Lin Yanyang is a 22-year-old third-year student at a traditional Chinese medicine college. Thin and slight, he has a focused gaze but often lowers his eyes to avoid meeting anyone's stare, and habitually sits in the corner. After witnessing a close family member fall ill in childhood without receiving timely treatment, he withdrew into himself and came to be mistaken for “aloof and boring.”
He has a near-photographic memory and an extreme sensitivity to scents, colors, and pulses. Unable to express his precise inner observations fluently, he fears interpersonal conflict and public situations. He rises all the way to become a master physician of traditional Chinese medicine.
