Journey to the West: You Were Supposed to Assist Him, So Why Did You Lead Brother Monkey Into Rebellion?

[Invincible wish-fulfillment, turning Journey to the West on its head, a troublemaker, staunchly backing Brother Monkey, showing no reverence for gods or Buddhas]

When Chen Le woke up, he discovered that he had become a low-ranking celestial official newly assigned to the Heavenly Court. He was a diehard fan of Journey to the West.

The timing couldn't have been worse: it was the eve of the day the monkey from Flower-Fruit Mountain was about to be recruited into the Heavenly Court!

“Fetch the scriptures? Fetch my foot! The Eighty-One Tribulations are nothing but a conspiracy, staged and directed by the gods to make Brother Monkey suffer!”

Watching the gods and Buddhas scheme beneath the heavens, and thinking of the humiliations Brother Monkey would endure, Chen Le grinned.

“Sorry, but I'm going to spice up this Journey to the West!”

The Buddha said, “All living beings suffer.”

Chen Le replied, “Don't just talk. You gods and Buddhas look like you have plenty of free time, so why don't we start by making you suffer?”

Sun Wukong asked, “Brother, where are we going?”

“To the West! But we're not fetching scriptures. We're sending that bunch of hypocrites on their way!”
