During the Jiatai period of the Southern Song Dynasty, Su Wanqing, a wupeng boat girl from a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, made a living by ferrying people. She had a cheerful personality and was familiar with the rivers of the water town. Recently, there have been frequent cases of missing merchant ships in the water town. Lu Jingran, the minister of the Ministry of Punishment, disguised himself to investigate the case and boarded Su Wanqing's awning boat. Relying on her knowledge of the water town, Su Wanqing provided clues to Lu Jingran and discovered that the disappearance was related to collusion between pirates and local officials. The two teamed up to take advantage of the geographical advantages of the water town to destroy pirate dens and ensure the safety of merchant ships.
