Multiple parallel universes are connected by the “Scumbag-Tormenting System.” The System’s apparent mission is to “travel between worlds, torment scumbags, and be reborn,” but it hides a “soul-binding” mechanism: the male lead and target of each world, Qi Yuan, is the same fragment of a soul, originating from the “Heart-Locking Demon Lord,” sealed during an ancient war between gods and demons. Su Li was an ordinary office worker in the real world. After dying in a car accident, she was bound to the System. She initially wanted revenge on her ex-boyfriend and best friend, but Qi Yuan kept “stealing the show” in every mission. Their relationship went from bickering to mutual devotion, and they ultimately unlocked the “Eternal World.” The System collapsed, and they returned to a happy ending.
Character profiles:
Female lead Su Li: Twenty-five, gentle and resilient in the real world but unlucky. After being reborn, she is clever and stunningly beautiful. At first, she is consumed by revenge; later, she is utterly spoiled. Her catchphrase is, “What’s not to love about being in a relationship?”
Male lead Qi Yuan, in his various-world incarnations: An eternal soul, obsessive and deeply devoted. He may look aloof, roguish, or domineering, but underneath he’s a clingy puppy, fond of locking her up and worshipping her. His identity changes in each world, but his soul remains the same, and he always appears when the female lead is in danger.
System: A tsundere AI that initially teases the female lead for her cleverness, then eventually breaks down and begs to be spared.
Supporting characters: Scumbags and green-tea schemers in each world, along with other villains in the side plots. In the real-world storyline, the female lead’s friends and family provide emotional support.
