Back in the 1980s, I Helped My Old Friends Live the Good Life

(Period setting + pocket dimension + transmigration into another person's body + romance in old age + twilight romance + everyday family life + unfilial sons and daughters-in-law + making a fortune) After working overtime nonstop, I dropped dead in the street. When I opened my eyes, I had transmigrated into the body of Tian Guihua, a poor fifty-year-old woman in a rural village in the 1980s.

Tian Guihua lived in a dilapidated thatched hut. Her two sons were unfilial, and neither of her daughters-in-law treated her like a human being.

All day long, they cursed her: “You old beggar! You should have died ages ago. Now you’re begging at our door!”

Fortunately, Tian Guihua had her old friend Jian Aimei to keep her company, so she wasn’t alone.

After transmigrating into Tian Guihua’s body, she gained a pocket dimension. In her impoverished new life, she used it to make sure she and her old friend could eat meat at every meal.

“That old hag, she’s still alive and has money for meat?!”

The delicious smell of meat made her two unfilial daughters-in-law drool.

Tian Guihua enjoyed her food even more, showing off in front of them and provoking them. In retaliation, they spread rumors everywhere that she had a man on the side and was disgracing the family.

Tian Guihua simply admitted it. A fifty-year-old woman whose husband had died had every right to find someone new. It wasn’t disgraceful, and it certainly wasn’t a stain on the family’s honor.

The rumors about Tian Guihua spread through the entire village, so she decided to use her pocket dimension to take her old friend to the city and find new partners for them both.

With the outlook of a modern woman, Tian Guihua believed that fifty was the perfect age to go out and make something of yourself. You could earn money and find a partner. Romance in your twilight years was perfectly respectable, and there was nothing shameful about finding a partner at fifty.

She took her old friend Jian Aimei to the city to find new partners, strike out on their own, make a fortune, and enjoy the good life. They could have all the men and money they wanted.
