Shadows of Mulberry Between the Lotuses
(A title rich in traditional Chinese charm, it highlights Lotus Tower as the central setting while hinting at Nie Huaisang's presence, capturing the heart of the story: the interactions between its two leads.)
Synopsis
Reborn after falling off a cliff, Nie Huaisang, head of the Lanling Nie Clan, stumbles into Lotus Tower and runs into Li Lianhua, who is taking a laid-back approach to recovering from his injuries. Nie Huaisang hides his scheming nature, playing the helpless victim and acting pathetic, all so he can cling to a powerful ally and live in peace. Li Lianhua sees through him but says nothing, watching with a smile as the “weak scholar” gets up to all his little tricks. Pursuit by the martial world and long-buried cases arrive one after another, as contests of poison and schemes take turns unfolding. When the devious Nie Huaisang meets the perceptive Li Lianhua, will they keep testing each other, or save one another? Watch as shadows fall between the lotuses, stirring up the tranquil waters of the martial world.
