In the 27th century, humanity conquers the stars with jump engines, only to accidentally awaken an ancient being sleeping in the depths of the galaxy: the “Abyssal Seed.” It is no tangible monster, but an information virus that can silently rewrite the constants of physics, extinguishing stars, shattering planets, and warping time. The Federation’s colonies fall one after another. Only the “Dawn Bastion,” the final stronghold encircled by nine artificial stars, barely keeps the human flame alive.
Lin Lan, a survivor from the New Dawn Colony, witnessed his home turn to dust under the Abyssal Seed’s corruption. Gifted with the rare trait of a “zero-latency neural link,” he is conscripted as an “Abyssal Probe” for a suicide reconnaissance mission. In the Bastion, he meets Xia Yizhou, a brilliant Abyssal Core scholar and fanatic who believes the Abyssal Seed is a “natural law” of the universe, and Qi Xiao, a legendary general scarred by the Dark Zone.
The three form a special task force and embark aboard the fabled “Entropy-Reversal Ship” on an expedition straight into the Dark Zone at the galaxy’s center. Along the way, they discover that the Abyssal Seed stems from the universe’s primordial immune mechanism: it prevents any civilization from living forever and forcibly resets low-entropy order. Faced with betrayal from within, reality dissolving, and hallucinations closing in, Lin Lan grows from a cold loner into a leader, Xia Yizhou struggles between reason and emotion, and Qi Xiao sacrifices himself to secure hope.
This is an epic about fragility and tenacity. Can humanity rewrite the rules of the universe and claim the right to choose? Or is extinction merely one part of an eternal cycle? Deep in the stellar abyss, the struggle between destiny and free will will determine whether the galaxy’s embers can burn again.
