Before heaven and earth were formed, the universe was an endless Hongmeng World, with no time, no space, and no distinctions between up, down, left, or right. Silence reigned within Hongmeng. It kept no record of the years, and no one knew how much time had passed. Perhaps it was billions of years, or perhaps only an instant.
Suddenly, a sound rang out from within Hongmeng. This tremendous boom seemed to be the birth of the universe’s origin, a spectacle beyond anyone’s equal. Even the boundless Hongmeng was shaken into a sudden roiling by the sound. After an unknowable span of time, the churning Hongmeng purple qi suddenly exploded. The shattered Hongmeng purple qi transformed into either embryonic spiritual treasures or chaotic spiritual energy.
The most powerful spiritual treasures formed were the four great Chaos Treasures: the Heaven-Opening Axe, the Jade Disc of Creation, the Chaos Green Lotus, and the Primordial Sword. In the end, only fifty-one strands of Hongmeng purple qi remained, intertwined together. Their shape seemed to embody the Dao, profound beyond all understanding.
