After He Was Sacrificed, the Heavenly Dao Crumbled

Everyone says that Lin Hao, a genius of the Qingyun Sect, possesses pure spiritual energy and is an immortal cultivator of a kind not seen in a century. His master, the Revered Master Xuan Yunzi, has high hopes for him and sees him as the sect’s future.

Yet at the sect’s grand Heaven-Worshipping Ceremony, with all eyes upon them, Xuan Yunzi chooses him as the “sacrifice,” tears out his innate spiritual root before the crowd, and casts him into the Abyss of Ten Thousand Demons. All under heaven mourn the young man’s sacrifice for the people, calling it noble and heroic. Others scoff that the so-called genius was merely a stepping stone for his master’s ascent to the Great Way.

In the abyss, as Lin Hao lies on the brink of death, the Demon Princess Youyue reveals a cruel truth: the master he revered had known from the very beginning that he bore an ancient, forbidden bloodline, the “Chaos Divine Demon Physique.” This physique is so overbearing that it must undergo the false-death ordeal of having its spiritual root stripped away before it can truly awaken. The so-called sacrifice was actually an unlocking ritual designed specifically for him.

“He only took away the last shackle on your bloodline,” Youyue says with a cold laugh. “Now the monster can wake.”

Returning from the abyss, Lin Hao embarks on a path of twofold revenge. He will shatter Xuan Yunzi’s sanctimonious facade with overwhelming power, and overturn the world’s false beliefs with undeniable truth. When the final battle comes and Xuan Yunzi exults after devouring part of his power, Lin Hao calmly reveals the ultimate secret: “You think you’re devouring me? No. You’re just... offering the final sacrifice for my complete awakening.”

This is a story of taking and giving, lies and truth, sacrifices and judges.
