Su Wan was fleeing famine with her five-year-old daughter when they stumbled into the lifeless Anping Village. During the disaster years of the Li Dynasty, nine out of ten households lay empty, yet this place alone had retained its auspicious feng shui.
Her daughter was born with “spirit eyes that attract things,” allowing her to see the wishes of all living things: pig bones begging for a burial, an old tree crying out for water, and wild ducks searching for a nest. She granted each wish, and her good deeds brought blessings in return.
Burying bones brought rice, watering the tree made it bear fruit, and helping livestock earned them eggs. The desolate village slowly came back to life, and refugees flocked there. Spiritual qi revival was underway, and the earth's ley lines were about to awaken.
She was a widowed mother struggling through a year of disaster, and also the one who would break the deadlock. With a child's pure heart as her guide, the cycle of cause and effect began anew, and a paradise was reborn.
