Fogbound Desolate Village: A Good-for-Nothing Detective and His Deranged Assistant

The story takes place in Wuyin Town, a small settlement on the southern frontier. Mountains surround it on three sides, with water on the fourth, and it lies isolated from the outside world beneath a blanket of thick fog all year round. The town preserves many eerie folk customs, such as the Ghost Lantern Festival and Paper Doll Wedding. Legend has it that the town hides a secret that can bring the dead back to life, but anyone who learns of it dies under mysterious circumstances. The town is hard to reach, connected to the outside world by just one muddy mountain road that often collapses in the rain. Cell phone reception comes and goes, adding to the horror and suspense of the story's claustrophobic setting.
