Hey, Desk Mate, Pay Attention to Me

When the classes were reshuffled in his second year of high school, Lu Nian managed to become Liang Heng’s deskmate. Liang Heng was just too handsome for Lu Nian, who had only recently figured out his sexual orientation to resist.

A ruggedly handsome face, sharp brows and eyes, and an effortless upward tilt at the corners of his eyes: Lu Nian willingly fell into the trap of liking him.

Later, Lu Nian could only wish he could take back that day.

For Liang Heng’s seventeenth birthday, his family booked out a private room. Their friends were already howling like mad, while his deskmate sat nearby, bored and playing on his phone.

Liang Heng used going to the restroom as an excuse, grabbed Lu Nian, and led him outside for some air.

But Lu Nian had come prepared. He brought out a little cake and told Liang Heng to make a wish. Liang Heng, who had just been thoroughly fleeced, was so touched he practically howled. Lu Nian fell silent for a moment, avoiding Liang Heng’s captivating eyes.

“If there’s something you want, tell me. Maybe I can make it happen.”

Moved, Liang Heng threw his arms around his good buddy Lu Nian and shouted at the night sky:

“From now on, Lu Nian will be my best buddy for life!!!”
