Spring 1934, Shanghai. In order to maintain his family, Su Zhilu stepped into the quiet bungalow in the French Concession and became the caregiver of the former financial darling Shen Jinghe. Shen Jinghe was trapped in a wheelchair due to an air crash and built a wall of heart with acrimony. Zhilu uses softness to overcome strength, using the sunshine outside the window, the stubborn medicine bowl and the soft local accent to quietly melt the ice in his heart. He taught her about Western finance, and she picked up his pen and ink for him. The two souls were deeply attracted by "teaching people how to fish" and "giving people comfort." When the secret of Shen Jinghe's choice to go to Switzerland to end his life was revealed, Zhilu did not cry and begged, but took him back to his hometown in the south of the Yangtze River to let him witness the tough and calm side of life. In the end, Shen Jinghe gave up the original plan and founded a library with Zhilu in Shanghai that carries knowledge and hope. He strategized and she implemented it, and together they wrote a warm and healing legend of mutual redemption in troubled times.

The emotions are delicate, the writing is beautiful, and the male and female protagonists redeem each other very touchingly.
