Reborn: The Dragon Appears in the Fields

On a rainy night in Kyoto, Yang Jingchen, a middle-aged homeless man, dies a gruesome death on the street, a wall spike driven through the back of his head. Before he dies, he gazes toward the Yang family estate and wishes for another life: if he gets one, he will make the Yang family pay for every blood debt they owe him.

Yang Jingchen was adopted by the wealthy Yang family of Kyoto, whose patriarch was Yang Chengyan, the richest man in the country. When the tycoon’s biological son, Yang Yuhuai, returned to the family, Yang Jingchen went from “heir apparent” to an outsider overnight. His status plummeted, he was bullied at every turn, and even the Yang family’s seven daughters came to hate him after Yang Yuhuai turned them against him. Worse still, Yang Yuhuai conspired with Fu Shiqi, the daughter of the Fu family, to frame him for “intentional murder,” leaving him to endure ten humiliating years in prison. After his release, he only wanted to borrow enough money from the Yang family to stay alive, but Yang Yuhuai accidentally shoved him into a wall spike, and he died full of hatred.

But fate takes pity on him, and Yang Jingchen is reborn at the point in his previous life when he was imprisoned. This time, he is no longer the helpless Yang Jingchen at the mercy of others. He is “Xiao Chen,” armed with ten years of patience and the extraordinary encounters he had in prison. It turns out the prison housed 107 masters he had apprenticed himself to, some hidden masters of incredible skills, others brilliant strategists bent on revenge. They teach him the arts of killing or show him how to break through seemingly impossible situations, helping him transform from a prisoner into a lurking hawk.

This time, he will turn the Yang family’s world upside down: free his masters from prison, expose Yang Yuhuai’s schemes, make his seven sisters see through the charade, and make Yang Chengyan pay for his favoritism. Reborn and ready to strike, Xiao Chen’s revenge is only just beginning.
