Programmer Gu Yun is transported into the hit game Nine Heavens Sword Sovereign and becomes a minor villain who won't survive three chapters. To stay alive, he's forced to join the "Villain Alliance," only to discover that it's a workplace straight out of hell:
· His coworkers are all bosses destined to die gruesome deaths in the original story.
· His job is to regularly give the Chosen One experience points.
· Miss his performance targets, and his soul will really be obliterated.
While everyone else is still figuring out how to cozy up to the protagonist, Gu Yun quietly raises his hand. "Um... if we use 'blessings' and a 996 work schedule to wear him down, does that count as meeting our KPI?"
Using his modern mindset, he turns assassination missions into Gantt charts and organizes team battles like project management. Against all odds, he carves out a new path of "scientific suicide."
But when he leads his team in successfully "optimizing" the plot for the first time, the world's System is suddenly alerted. A bloody light appears on the ceiling, and a cold countdown is etched into the back of his hand:
[Hidden quest activated: Find the 'author' and kill the 'story.']
[Time remaining: 23:59:59]
Only then does Gu Yun understand: they were never fighting the protagonist, but a higher being who writes everything and sees them as data. Now the "code" has awakened and issued its ultimate command in reverse.
