Dreaming Back to the Lost Path

"You work at a funeral home? That's terrifying!" Xiao Ru's eyes widened as she stared at Xin Chen in alarm.

"I can't help it. It's hard to find a job these days." Xin Chen sighed. "My parents used most of their savings to help me make the down payment. I have to earn money to pay the mortgage."

Xiao Ru pursed her lips and lowered her voice. "I've heard places like that have lots of taboos. You'd better be careful..."

"Stop right there!" Xin Chen quickly cut her off. "Don't tell me any of that. As long as the job is legal and pays on time, that's good enough for me. Besides, it's a public institution, so the social insurance and housing fund are guaranteed."

Xin Chen had no idea what this unusual job would bring her, much less that she was about to meet the person who would change her life forever.
