I Command Three Million Troops, and You Want to Strip Me of My Fief, Nephew?

When Su Jie received the news that Sixth Brother had killed himself, he knew he had no choice but to rebel.

He was Su Jie, the ninth son of the founding emperor of the Great Chu Dynasty.

Though he was the youngest, he had already fought on horseback in the army at fourteen, before he was even as tall as a horse, and had rendered outstanding service in helping his father secure the realm. But fate had other plans. When Su Jie was twenty-three, his father passed away.

Because he favored his eldest son, after the eldest son died young, the emperor still resolutely passed the throne to his eldest son’s legitimate heir.

And the first thing his nephew did was strip the vassal kings of their power?

“You’re saying Sixth Brother kept to himself and read nothing but the Confucian classics, yet he was driven to his death?”

“Yes.”

“You’re saying I’m the late emperor’s ninth son, granted the title Prince of Qin, stationed on the northern frontier, and that I’ve fought in campaigns north and south for years, commanding an army of 3.3 million?”

“Yes.”

“You’re saying I have countless capable ministers and fierce generals under my command, and the northern frontier supports me wholeheartedly?”

“Yes.”

“You’re saying that before Father died, he left an edict forbidding his brothers from fighting one another?”

“Yes.”

“Then what are we waiting for? We rebel.”

I have Heaven’s timing, Earth’s advantages, and the people on my side. Even Zhu Di next door would be green with envy.

Stripping the vassal kings of their power?

If you can’t rule this empire, then let me do it.
