The County Magistrate's Daughter Marries a Poor Hunter to Repay Her Father's Debt of Gratitude

This story is entirely fictional:

Hunter's son Mao Feng: Whoever wants to marry the county magistrate's daughter can do it. I only want to marry Jin Ping, my childhood sweetheart.

Hunter father Mao Dashan: Do you want the whole family to end up in jail? You have to marry her whether you want to or not.

Lin Qinfeng was a county magistrate, yet so poor he could barely scrape together a living. When he encountered a wild beast in the mountains, the hunter Mao Dashan saved him. To repay him for saving his life, Lin Qinfeng married his daughter to Mao Dashan's son, Mao Feng.

Since the Mao family didn't have the ten taels of silver needed for a betrothal gift to marry Zhao Jinping, they simply agreed on their son's behalf to marry the county magistrate's daughter.
