Twelve-year-old Sun Kecheng became a young correspondent for the eastward column of the 129th Division of the Eighth Route Army because of his good walking skills. During the anti-Japanese war in southern Hebei, he grew from a boy delivering messages on foot to a backbone of the hidden front who shuttled through tunnels and behind enemy lines. With his wisdom and loyalty, he created a silent legend on the land of Dongyang.
