"League of Legends: Life on the Edge"
Lu Ze was the most silent background in the high school classroom, and his life was sliding on a mediocre track. In the last three months of his senior year of high school, he put everything on the line and studied crazily in an almost self-destructive manner, and miraculously managed to get into a top university. However, after a short period of glory, he was expelled from the university for being addicted to games, and fell from a genius to a marginalized person in shame. Because he had no face to face his parents and started a three-fight career, he eventually fell into junior college. An e-sports youth training contract became the last straw for him.
Starting from struggling in the second-tier league where no one cares about, he seized a desperate opportunity to come on as a substitute in the World Championship, staged a miraculous comeback in the name of "Online", and went from being quiet on the edge to a tsunami sweeping the field. But the halo of the championship was fleeting. Infighting within the club and a cold contract brought him back to his original form, and he was transferred to the Yubel team, beginning a four-year career of "waste draft" with no results and much ridicule.
When the contract ended, he was forced to bid farewell to the game early, return to ordinary life, marry a wife and have children, thinking that the story would end there.
Until one rainy night, a transoceanic phone call from South Korea rang.
"Hey, I'm your eldest cousin."
On the other end of the phone was my former mentor who had also gone through many years of ups and downs and struggled to survive in a foreign country. This phone call disturbed Lu Ze's already peaceful life, and also awakened the dark fire buried deep under the trivial daily life that had never really been extinguished.
This is the story of a "marginal man". It's about the fall after counterattack, about the desperate attempt to seize slim opportunities.
